On May 18, 1994 the UEFA Champions League final (Milan-Barcelona 4-0) is played at the Athens Olympic Stadium. GALANIS SPORTS DATA internationally presents on television and to all Press representatives, the first football statistics probably for the first time in a big European competition.
UEFA will instruct GALANIS SPORTS DATA to cover the European U18 Championship held in Cyprus in 1998 (17-26 July), a project that followed the coverage of the Division A’ Cyprus Football Championship.
Since 1997, GALANIS SPORTS DATA covers the statistics of the division A’ and B’ championships and in 2006 the company signed a contract with the new organizing body, Super League, for the coverage of the new championship.
In 2009, GALANIS SPORTS DATA was assigned by Super League Greece to keep the official statistics as well as to provide the official graphics to all TV channels in the context of the central TV right agreement of the OPAP football championship for the next 3 years, an agreement which was extended in 2013.
In the football field, the company has processed and studied various statistical variables and has formulated “evaluation indices”, presenting category leaders, matchday and championship MVPs and offering special analyses to teams and coaches.
