The co-operation of GALANIS SPORTS DATA with the General Secretariat of Sports, the governing body of sports in Greece, started from the first year of the company’s operation.

During the ’80s, the organizing Committees of all major international sporting events were primarily controlled by GGS and secondarily by the respective Sport Federations.

As a result, the 7^th Balkan Games in Gymnastics and Rythmic Gymnastics, the EEC Weightlifting Championships (1987), the World Volleyball Championships (1986), the European Wrestling Championships (1986), the 5^th World Water Polo Cup (1987) are the first major coverages of GALANIS SPORTS DATA with GSS. Later on, all these events were organized by the various Sport Federations and were covered by GALANIS SPORTS DATA (Cosmovolley ’94, Eurovolley ’95, World Marathon Cup ’95, 9^th European Veterans’ Athletics Championships ’94, Eurobasket ’95, Juniors Mundobasket ’95, World Basket ‘98 etc).
